The Hearts in Motion™ Walking Clubs are a Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick program designed to encourage people to participate in regular physical activity by walking. Lack of exercise is recognized as a major risk factor for cardiovascular disease, which is Canada's leading cause of death. Walking is an easy and sociable activity that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. Beyond the feel good effects brought on by the endorphins released, one of the most overlooked parts of walking is the sense of accomplishment that comes from getting out and doing something. It is a way to build your confidence and it is a great way to participate in a social activity. Walking Clubs are designed to be an enjoyable, fun and positive way for people to become heart healthy in their own communities.
